Title: Body-Brain interaction underlying human decision making.
Abstract:
Can you imagine that the breakfast you eat shapes your brain function and decision-making throughout the day? Or that the way you breathe influences the choices you make? The dynamic interplay between the brain and body has drawn increasing attention, yet rigorous experimental studies testing how bodily changes causally affect brain and behavior remain scarce. In this talk, I will present a series of findings from my lab that decode the interactions between body and brain, revealing how these connections shape human function and behavior. I will highlight recent studies showing how food impacts brain activity and behavior through the metabolic regulation of neurotransmitter systems. I will also discuss how metabolic states, such as weight loss, and hormonal fluctuations shape cognition and brain function. Finally, I will demonstrate how breathing patterns influence body–brain communication and decision-making.
The talk will, of course, be accompanied by cake 😊
See you all there! ALL ARE WELCOME.
