MRgFUS (Magnetic Resonance-guided focused Ultrasound Surgery) treatment for essential tremor

The Danish Minister of Health, Magnus Heunicke visited Aarhus University Hospital to witness the new treatment of patients with essential tremor using MRgFUS (Magnetic Resonance-guided focused Ultrasound Surgery). DR TV-avisen also followed the treatment of a tremor patient.

On Thursday 15 September 2022 the Danish Minister of Health visited Aarhus University Hospital (AUH) to see the new MRgFUS (Magnetic Resonance-guided focused Ultrasound Surgery) treatment of a patient suffering from essential tremor. CFIN researchers and staff are part of the team performing this new treatment that has been made possible through a donation of DKK 9 million to AUH from the Bundgaard Foundation. AUH is the first public hospital in Scandinavia and the Nordic countries to offer this new ground-breaking treatment of patients with essential tremor.
DR's TV-avisen followed the Minister of Health's visit where an 80 year old man was treated for his tremor.
