New face at MIB: Giulio Mastrototaro
MIB welcomes Master's student from the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy.
Giulio Mastrototaro is a Master's student in Engineering of Medical Systems at the Polytechnic of Bari. He's visiting MIB for two months to work on his master's thesis in collaboration with Prof. Elvira Brattico.
He will implement a machine learning algorithm on EEG data that can decode musical features from the brain signal to assess the musical perception abilities of special populations, such as cochlear implant users.
A recent clarinet graduate, he has always been passionate about music and EEG: for his undergraduate degree in engineering, he developed a hardware/software system for sound synthesis using EEG signals.
