New face at MIB: Jessica Briasco

MIB is joined by Master's student from Milan.

Jessica Briasco is a master’s student in Cognitive Sciences at the University of Milan.
With a background in physiotherapy and a diploma in jazz electric bass, she was driven to find a field that could bring together all her skills and interests.

She arrived in Aarhus in September and will stay for five months to conduct her master’s thesis at the Center for Music in the Brain, working with Assistant Professor Anna Zamorano. Her project focuses on chronic pain, specifically on how motivation, reward, and motor control interact when individuals face physical effort and discomfort. By comparing musicians and non-musicians, the study aims to shed light on mechanisms of pain resilience.

She is very excited about this experience and looks forward to growing both scientifically and personally while being part of the international research environment at MIB.
