New face at MIB: Shannie Roberge
Visiting PhD student from Université de Montréal in Canada joins MIB.
Shannie Roberge is a PhD student at the Université de Montréal in Canada. She is currently visiting MIB for three months to collaborate with Dr Kira Vibe Jespersen. She is pursuing a PhD in neuropsychology, combining research and clinical practice, and works at the International Laboratory for Brain, Music and Sound Research (BRAMS), under the supervision of Dr Nathalie Gosselin. Her thesis project focuses on the impacts of a music-listening intervention on the psychological and cognitive health of older adults.
During her time at MIB, she will conduct a comprehensive systematic review of the effectiveness of music as a sleep aid. As a future clinician, her research focuses on the importance of identifying effective and accessible non-pharmacological healthcare interventions.
Apart from her academic activities, Shannie has been passionate about music since childhood. She has played the piano since the age of six and loves to sing.
