New face at MIB: WeiWei
MIB welcomes new PhD student from the Sino-Danish College.

WeiWei is a PhD student at Aarhus University, currently undertaking a one-year study as part of a double-degree program at the Sino-Danish College. Her academic journey began with a Master’s degree focused on prediction in Chinese comprehension at multiple levels—semantic, phonological, and orthographic—utilizing EEG and Representational Similarity Analysis (RSA).
At Aarhus, WeiWei is delving into the intersection of language and music cognition. Her research aims to uncover whether the brain’s predictive mechanisms for language and music share spatio-temporal neural signatures using MEG. Their project is conducted under the supervision of Professor Elvira Brattico, with collaboration from Niels Trusbak Haumann and Leonardo Bonetti. Through this work, WeiWei seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of predictive processing in the human brain and its potential implications for both linguistics and music neuroscience.
